COLUMBUS is producing film score mixed with dancefloor and classical popsong structures – enwrapped in a coat of neofuturistic sound. The combination is due to the musical backgrounds of each band member.
Bartellow was educated in classical composition and has been working as a movie score producer among other things. Amos has been writing and producing catchy pop tunes for quite a while now.
COLUMBUS songs are combining clubbyness and sophisticated arrangements. Compared to many other dance tracks, they consequently pursue a dramaturgy while keeping a strong soundtrack feel. COLUMBUS’ specific sound results from their work with a wide range of analog snythesizers from the 80ies and 90ies.
